White x White: How to keep your whites, WHITE

Ditch the bleach. Bleach is *supposed to* whiten clothes, but this only works for so long. Eventually your clothes will go from white to yellow. Nothing worse then dull white clothes.

Separate colors when washing. Never throw your white jeans (or shirt, sweater, etc.) into a load of darks. The die from other garments will bleed out and stain your whites. I have two separate clothing hampers to avoid this- one for my darks, and the other for my whites. 

Prep clothes before wash. Before throwing your whites straight into the washer, soak them for 30 minutes in a bowl of warm water + white distilled vinegar. This will help break up any discoloration and give them the crisp white look you desire without using any harsh chemicals. Not only is it natural, but it also acts as a deodorizer and is inexpensive.

Add in a laundry booster. When it's time to start washing your clothes, use a small amount of laundry booster in addition to your regular laundry detergent. THIS is my favorite laundry booster for white washes.

Use hot water. Hot water is great for white laundry because it kills germs and breaks down any harsh stains and build-up. If you're treating a particular stain, be sure to check on it post-wash to see if it has come out. If it has, go ahead and put it in the dryer. If not, then repeat the wash cycle. It's important not to put any stained clothes into the dryer because the hot air will set the stain in making it more difficult, or impossible, to remove.
